Biostar announces its first mechanical keyboard
Biostar has announced the GK3 mechanical keyboard. The full-size keyboard uses Outemu Blue switches and has LED lighting that can be set in seven modes. Biostar claims that this is the manufacturer’s first mechanical keyboard.
The Outemu Blue switches are similar to Cherry MX-Blue switches, but are made by the Chinese manufacturer Gaote and are available at a lower price. According to Biostar, the switches can be pressed 50 million times before they break.
The keyboard is made of aluminum and is protected against water and dust. According to Biostar, the keyboard can be cleaned by rinsing it with water. It also has support for n-key rollover, which prevents ghosting. The lighting can be set in seven different flashing modes. It is not clear whether the colors of the LEDs can also be adjusted.
Biostar has a suggested retail price of $44.99. Converted and with VAT that is about 51 euros. It is not yet clear when the keyboard will be available.
