Beyond Good and Evil 2 Game Update Trailer Shows Battle System
Ubisoft has shared a new game update trailer for Beyond Good and Evil 2. In it, the developer takes a closer look at the combat system, cooperative mode, and weapon and vehicle upgrades.
The trailer is a recap of the Beyond Good and Evil 2 livestream, in which the game directors, producer and community manager talk about the development of the game and its features. Several upgrades are available for the weapons, such as creating a ‘time bubble’ in which enemies move more slowly. Enemies have these upgrades too. Before battle, the player can see through special binoculars which upgrades enemies are carrying. In addition, the binoculars show statistics and skills of NPCs. It is also possible to add NPCs to your team.
When players are in cooperative mode, they don’t necessarily have to do the same missions together. Both can enter the game as they please and discover the world on their own. It is not yet clear whether a local variant of co-op will also be possible.
According to the team, all vehicles in the game are controllable. The player’s personal vehicle can be customized according to preference. In space, players can also abandon their ship and walk on it. On top of the ship, for example from a wing, players can view and explore a nearby planet from above through the binoculars.
The first Beyond Good and Evil was released on November 11, 2003. The sequel has been in development for over ten years. In June 2017, Ubisoft showed the first Beyond Good and Evil 2 trailer at E3. It is not yet known when the game will be released and for which platforms.
