Bethesda has broadly revealed the changes Fallout 76 will get in 2022. In the spring, Invaders From Beyond is on the program. With that game world update, aliens appear in Appalachia.

In new Public Events and ‘random encounters (of a third kind)’ players can take on the aliens, Bethesda writes. The Invaders From Beyond update also gives players the opportunity to earn Score Points and marks the start of Season 8: A Better Life Underground.

New Public Events will appear in the summer with the Test Your Metal update. In it, players can compete against automatons in arena battles. Also, the Summer Update adds upgrades to the Fallout 1st leaderboard and marks the start of Season 9.

Set in the Pittsburgh game world of Fallout 3, the previously announced expansion is coming to Fallout 76 in the fall under the name Expeditions: The Pitt. This expansion includes a new area with missions and NPCs. Season 10 will also start then.

With the winter update, the Nuka World Tour comes to the game. Bethesda describes this as a traveling roadshow, with new Public Events, a regional boss and the start of a new season. Bethesda has not yet announced exact release dates for the updates.
