Bethesda: Rage 2, Wolfenstein Youngblood and Doom Eternal are coming to Steam
Game company Bethesda has announced that it will release the games Rage 2, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot and Doom Eternal on Steam, the game platform of Valve. Bethesda will do the same with Fallout 76.
In the Twitter post reports Bethesda that this list of unreleased games will be available via Steam upon release. Fallout 76 has been out for a while; this game is also coming to Valve’s platform sometime later this year. This message means that Bethesda is not committed to a deal with Epic Games for the time being to at least release these games exclusively on its Epic Games Store.
For example, the company behind Fortnite has arranged for the PC version of The Outer Worlds to appear exclusively on the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store; it won’t be coming to Steam until a year after its release. The makers of Metro Exodus, released on February 15, also chose Epic Games for their game, which meant that the game disappeared from the Steam platform shortly before its release. The Division 2 is also available through the Epic Games Store.
There has been a certain battle between Steam and the Epic Games Store for several months now. Epic Games released this Steam alternative in December. The company behind Fortnite and the Unreal Engine is trying to persuade game companies to choose the Epic Games Store, partly because of lower rates that developers have to pay.
