Bethesda postpones Switch version of The Elder Scrolls: Blades until early 2020

Bethesda is delaying the release of the Switch version of The Elder Scrolls: Blades until early next year. The free RPG was previously released for Android and iOS. The company will be adding new elements in December, including a custom loot system and a pvp mode.

Bethesda says in a blog post that it has all kinds of changes in store for The Elder Scrolls: Blades, which has led to the postponement of the release of the version for Nintendo Switch. This version was shown during the E3 fair and should have been released this year. The publisher has not yet given an exact release date.

The changes Bethesda is talking about are part of update 1.5, which will be released in December for the mobile version. This includes adjustments to the collection of loot. The timers for Chests disappear, making them instantly unlockable. Until now, players have to wait or pay money to speed up the process. In addition, from version 1.5 there is more loot to collect by defeating enemies and guilds are introduced.

Another innovation is the addition of a pvp arena, allowing players to compete against other players in a best-of-three and earn loot. To access this mode, players must be at least level 5 and progress in this arena will be tracked on leaderboards. In the pvp matches, crossplay between the mobile versions and the Switch version is supported.

In The Elder Scrolls: Blades, players take on the role of a member of the Blades faction and must try to restore the former glory of their ruined city from a first-person perspective. The game cannot be regarded as, for example, a mobile version of Skyrim. Blades is all about smaller quests and managing and rebuilding a city.
