Bethesda postpones Starfield’s release to September 6
Bethesda Game Studios is releasing the highly anticipated space RPG Starfield on September 6. Last year, the developer, acquired by Microsoft in 2020, announced that Starfield would be released in the first half of 2023.
On his website writes Bethesda that Starfield will be released exclusively for Xbox Series X|S and PC on September 6, as well as Xbox Game Pass. Due to Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda in 2020, the game has become an Xbox exclusive and will not be released for PlayStation consoles.
Todd Howard, Starfield’s game director, says in a new video that a special Starfield Direct event will take place on June 11, offering a deeper look at the game from Bethesda’s studio.
The video not only includes a brief statement from Howard announcing the event, thanking players for their feedback and enthusiasm, and highlighting the company’s commitment to Starfield. The first half of the video contains a short teaser with some footage from the ingame engine.
Starfield was previously scheduled for a release on November 11, 2022, but in May last year it became clear that that was not achieved and the developer indicated that Starfield was postponed to the first half of 2023. No new release date was then mentioned.
