Bethesda: Fallout 76 for Switch ‘wasn’t possible’
Bethesda has been thinking about or working on a version of Fallout 76 for the Nintendo Switch, but has decided not to release a version of the game for the Nintendo console. The port of Fallout 76 for the Switch was “undoable”, according to a CEO.
During the panel discussion at an event in Australia, CEO Pete Hines did not go into exactly which elements of the game were ‘not doable’, Gamespot writes. He mentioned that the teams that make the games ultimately get to decide for themselves which platforms they make a game for and the Switch is not mandatory. “Everything we do is led by developers.”
Bethesda will release another Wolfenstein game for the Nintendo console, but Hines declined to say which one. Bethesda has Wolfenstein: Youngblood planned and is working on Wolfenstein III after that.
According to Hines, Bethesda considers with every game whether a release on the Switch is an option. “The Switch is something that I can say is part of every conversation with every developer we have from now on because we see it as a viable platform. We want to release the game on every platform possible if the game works on it. not a commission, but it’s something we want to be on developers’ radar.”
Bethesda has already released several games for the Nintendo console. Fallout 76 comes out on November 14 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
