Bethesda CEO: Fallout 5 follows The Elder Scrolls 6
Todd Howard, the director and executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios, has indicated in an interview that Fallout 5 will be worked on after The Elder Scrolls 6 is released.
In a interview with IGN Howard says that The Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production, Fallout 5 is next, and they’re also looking at some other projects from time to time. With this he wants to indicate that Bethesda’s plate is quite full for the time being.
He acknowledges that such fan-favorite games are a long time coming and that he is just as frustrated as the fans are at how long it will take: “It will take a while, I wish they came out sooner. I really want that and we working as hard as we can, but we want them to be as good as possible for everyone.”
Howard’s comments mean fans will have to be patient for Fallout 5. The Elder Scrolls 6 is currently in pre-production, but there’s no concrete release date for that yet, and the real work on that game won’t be until after Starfield comes out in 2023. The Elder Scrolls 6 has previously been moved in favor of Starfield. Work on this latter space game began in 2015.
