BeReal may be working on a feature to automatically show a music track with a photo
Social media company BeReal may be working on a feature for its app to automatically show a playing music track with a photo. A developer discovered this. That would only work with the music service Spotify.
It is unclear how BeReal would represent that in a photo. Developer Alessando Paluzzi, who often scours test versions of apps in search of code for new functions, shows screenshots of a setting which makes it possible to link BeReal to Spotify. The description is that users can then show friends what they are listening to when taking a photo for the app.
So far, a post on BeReal consists of a photo taken with the front camera and the back camera of a phone, possibly with a caption. Other functions are not included in the app. Users can post one post per day and BeReal will send all users a notification at the same time to do so at a random time of the day. This limited effect ensures that BeReal functions as an anti-Instagram.
It is still unknown if and when the Spotify integration will appear in the app. Because BeReal does not often add features, there is no track record yet of how long testing new features in the app usually takes.
