Benchmark Geekbench 6 is released
Developer Primate Labs has released version 6 of the widely used benchmark Geekbench. The benchmark is tougher than the previous version and has new tests such as blurring the background in videos and removing objects from photos.
The changes should be in line with how we have started using our computers and phones in recent years, reports Primate Labs. The sixth version of Geekbench also relies more on neural processes with object recognition in photos as a test. In addition, the assets, such as photos, videos and maps, are of higher resolution and therefore heavier.
In addition, the benchmark works differently for calculating multicore scores. Instead of testing each processor core separately, the test is now more focused on the cooperation between the different processor cores. This should make a difference, especially on desktops and laptops, where processors with separate cores for performance-oriented and economy-oriented tasks have been on the rise in recent years. Such big.LITTLE architectures have been around for years in smartphone SoCs. Geekbench 6 is available immediately for Android, iOS, Windows, macOSand Linux.
