Belkin, Mophie, Anker and Aircharge will release the first wireless chargers that work with the Qi2 standard before the end of the year. It is based on Apple MagSafe and the chargers will therefore work with the iPhone 15 phones.

There are now a total of one hundred products in the queue for certification that work with Qi2, reports the Wireless Power Consortium. Companies work together on the standard under that name. Qi2 chargers will probably be able to charge iPhones at 15W, as is already possible with MagSafe chargers. At this time, Qi2 compatibility is not yet listed on the product pages iPhone 15phones, but Apple already said when announcing that the devices support Qi2.

Qi2 consists of two profiles. MPP or Magnetic Power Profile is the standard based on MagSafe, while EPP or Extended Power Profile works without magnets and is based on the first version of Qi. Where Qi goes up to 7.5W, Qi2 goes up to 15W. Many phones support wireless charging faster than 15W, but do so with their own technology. Manufacturers announced Qi2 chargers in early September. The Qi2 standard was announced at the beginning of this year during the CES in Las Vegas.
