Beat Saber and Gran Turismo 7 will be available for PSVR2
Racing game Gran Turismo 7 is getting an update to support Sony’s upcoming PlayStation VR 2 headset. It has now also become clear that the popular VR title Beat Saber will eventually also be available for the PSVR2.
Sony announced during its CES press conference that Gran Turismo 7 will receive an update so that players can play the racing game immediately when the PlayStation VR 2 headset comes out in February. Owners of the racing game will receive a free update for this. The question of whether games available for the PSVR will also work on the PSVR2 is related to the fact that Sony’s new headset is not backwards compatible with PSVR games.
During the same presentation announced that Beat Saber will also be available for the PSVR2. The version for the new headset is currently still in development, so it is still unknown when exactly the game will be available. It is also unclear whether the paid DLC can be transferred. Beat Saber is a VR game where players use two colored lightsabers to hit objects coming at them. These objects represent parts of the music.
The PSVR2 will be released on February 22, costs 600 euros and according to Sony there will be more than thirty games available around the release date. Horizon Call of the Mountain from Guerrilla Games certainly belongs to that list. Other games that will receive support for the PSVR2, but won’t all necessarily be available on February 22, include Resident Evil Village, After the Fall, and No Man’s Sky.
