Be quiet shows smaller and cheaper version of Dark Rock Pro 5 CPU cooler
Be quiet presented the Dark Rock 5 during Computex 2024. The CPU cooler is a smaller, cheaper version of the Dark Rock Pro 5, which was introduced last year. The Dark Rock 5 will be released later this month for 70 euros.
The big difference between the Dark Rock 5 and the Pro 5 is that the new model only contains one heatsink tower. The Pro 5 has dual heat sinks. The Dark Rock 5 does get a Silent Wing fan, which should make little noise, and six copper heat pipes. The device also has a special heat sink top layer that should improve heat transfer.
Just like the Dark Rock Pro 5, the fan can run in two settings. There is a quiet option that makes as little noise as possible and an option focused on performance, with a higher speed for better cooling performance. However, this option also produces more sound.
The CPU cooler is also asymmetrical and has cutouts in the heatsink. This makes it compatible with many RAM modules and the cooler does not block the view of such modules.
