Be quiet releases pwm versions of Pure Wings 2 fans

Be quiet has launched pwm variants of its Pure Wings 2 fans. Four sizes are available: 80mm, 92mm, 120mm and 140mm. Thanks to the pwm functionality, the rotation speed can be adjusted.

Be quiet’s Pure Wing 2 fans have been available for a while with a three-pin connection, the new pwm variants that the manufacturer is now releasing have a four-pin connection with pulse width modulation functionality. That makes it possible to set the rotation speed via the bios, software or automatically by the motherboard according to the temperature.

In other respects, the new fans are similar to the existing Pure Wing 2 fans. The smallest variants run a maximum of 1900 rotations per minute. The 120mm and 140mm versions do 1500rpm and 1000rpm respectively. According to Be quiet, the new fans are for sale immediately. The Pure Wings 2 pwm fans with sizes of 80mm, 92mm, 120mm and 140mm cost 9.80, 10.70, 12.40 and 13.40 euros respectively.
