Be quiet has announced all the details of its Pure Rock 2. The CPU cooler comes out for 39 euros in silver or 44 euros in black. The cooler is equipped with four heat pipes, a 120 mm fan and has an asymmetrical design.

The Pure Rock 2 is the successor to the Pure Rock, which be quiet has been in its range since 2014. The new version has the same dimensions of 87x121x155mm, but is slightly lighter according to the specifications: 575 grams compared to 660 grams for the previous model.

Be quiet has slightly modified the design of the cooler. The Pure Rock 2 has an offset design so that the heatsink does not get in the way of the memory slots next to the CPU socket. The cooler is compatible with all current Intel and AMD consumer sockets, with the exception of TR4 and sTRX4.

Under the heatsink are four 6mm thick heatpipes and be quiet includes a Pure Wings 2 fan. That is a PWM fan with a diameter of 120mm and thickness of 25mm. The maximum rotational speed is 1500rpm. According to be quiet, the cooler is suitable for CPUs up to a TDP of 150 watts.

The Pure Rock 2 is the cheapest cooler in the Rock series from be quiet. The manufacturer also has more expensive Shadow Rock and Dark Rock models, which offer more cooling capacity. In March, the Shadow Rock 3 came out, with a cooling efficiency of 190 watts.

Be quiet makes a silver BK006 version of the Pure Rock 2 and it costs 39 euros. The BK007 version has a black coating and has a suggested retail price of 44 euros. According to the manufacturer, the coolers will be on the market ‘in the coming weeks’.
