Be quiet is releasing the Dark Base 701 housing this month for 229 euros
Be quiet is releasing its Dark Base 701 case this month. This case, which was already announced during the Computex, has Silent Wings 4 fans and Arb LEDs on the front. The housing will be released on November 14 for 229 euros.
The Dark Base 701 midtower from be quiet is a smaller version of the Dark Base 901 flagship that the manufacturer previously introduced. The case has a mesh front panel and top for better airflow. The Dark Base 701 comes standard with three Silent Wings 4 140mm fans, which are fitted as standard as one air input and two air output fans. There are also argb accents on the front of the housing.
The case has a hub to which up to eight PWM fans and two additional Arb components can be connected. These can be controlled with buttons on the top of the housing.
Furthermore, the case also has an inverted option, which allows the motherboard to be placed upside down on the left side of the case. The motherboard tray can also be removed from the case, so that users can install the motherboard outside the case and then place this tray in the case. The trays at the front and top of the midtower can also be dismantled, which should make it easier to install fans or radiators. Be quiet says the case supports up to eight 120mm or 140mm fans and radiators of up to 360mm.
The housing offers space for up to three 3.5″ HDDs or five 2.5″ drives. On the front of the midtower there are two USB-A ports and a USB-C connection, in addition to a 3.5mm jack for audio and a microphone. The case supports up to E-ATX motherboards and is 565mm long, 249mm wide and 523mm high. The Dark Base 701 has ‘channels’ on the side that should make it easier to hide cables.
