Be quiet equips Shadow Rock Slim 2 cooler with ‘direct touch’ heatpipes
Be quiet will release a new version of its Shadow Rock Slim cooler at the end of July. The new model has direct touch heatpipes and an improved mounting kit, which should make installation easier. The CPU cooler costs 45.90 euros.
The Shadow Rock Slim 2 is largely the same as the predecessor that be quiet has been selling since 2014. It is a CPU cooler with a height of 161mm, a weight of 690 grams and a cooling capacity of up to 160W.
The heatsink is equipped with four 6mm thick copper heatpipes. They now make direct contact with the processor’s heat spreader. The first version of the Shadow Rock Slim has an aluminum plate in which the heat pipes are processed.
Be quiet combines the Shadow Rock Slim 2 cooler with a 135mm PWM nine-blade fan. Optionally, a second fan can be placed, be quiet supplies the necessary clips for this. The cooler’s design is suitable for systems with high memory modules, the manufacturer says. The cooler comes with a new mounting kit for recent Intel and AMD sockets.
