Battlefield V Has New Map Inspired by Battlefield 3 Metro Playfield
Battlefield V is getting a new multiplayer playing field on Thursday, called Operation Underground. This map is inspired by the Operation Métro, a well-known and popular map from the eight-year-old Battlefield 3.
Operation Métro was set in an underground metro station in a contemporary representation of Paris, but Operation Underground is set in an urban German area devastated by the war. Players must battle for control both above and below ground.
EA reports that the map will be playable in Conquest, Squad Conquest, Breakthrough, and Team Deathmatch game modes. The Rush mode, which became popular in Battlefield: Bad Company 2, can also be played in Operation Underground, although this is only temporarily.
Operation Métro and also Operation Underground are characterized by the presence of fast, chaotic infantry battles in sometimes small, narrow spaces. Not only the underground train station is part of the new playing field, but also the streets of the city above it and an open square. According to the publishers, Dice has removed a number of bottlenecks from Métro for the new map and added new flanking routes.
