Battlefield Seattle Studio is looking for a design director for an upcoming Battlefield game. The relatively new Electronic Arts studio is looking for an experienced person for the vacancy who can shape the single player campaign of the game.

The intended employee must ensure that the as-yet unannounced Battlefield game innovates in the single-player field, state in the job description. “You will become a manager of the design team and develop a vision for a new Battlefield campaign. The job involves orchestrating the mission design, story, and gameplay mechanics to ensure the highest possible quality.”

It is not clear from the vacancy text what kind of Battlefield game it is exactly. DICE says it is working exclusively on Battlefield 2042 and has “no time” for other projects within the franchise. It’s only clear that one of the upcoming Battlefield games will have a single-player campaign, but whether this is part of a classic Battlefield title with single and multiplayer, or a standalone narrative game, remains open.

The respective developer, Battlefield Seattle Studio, was formed in late 2021 to work on new Battlefield experiences. The studio is headed by Vince Zampella, one of the co-founders of Call of Duty pioneer Infinity Ward. After leaving that studio, he co-founded Apex Legends and Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order creator Respawn Entertainment. In addition, ex-Halo director Marcus Lehto works at the company in Seattle.

DICE is currently only working on Battlefield 2042, while the already established Battlefield Seattle Studio is working on a new project.
