Battlefield 4 Includes ‘Death Shield’ Bug
In Battlefield 4, a bug has been discovered that causes an invisible, indestructible shield to appear in the game world. If a player is shot, his hitbox will remain upright. Other players can hide behind it again, so they can’t take any damage.
The bug was discovered by YouTube user JackFrags. While shooting one of his videos, he ran into the bug. In his video he summarizes his findings. A player who has been shot but can still be resuscitated with a defibrillator will raise an invisible, impenetrable shield. This is probably because the hitbox, the invisible surface on which a player can be hit by projectiles, does not fall to the ground at the same time as the shot player. The result is an invisible screen that resists grenades and even fuel cartridges. If a player can no longer be resuscitated, the hitbox will disappear. An employee of DICE stilt that the developer is looking into the matter.
It’s not the first bug that Battlefield 4 has faced. Since its release, gamers have been complaining about the amount of lag they have to deal with with busy servers. Developer DICE has indicated in the past that further content expansions will be put on hold until all technical issues with the game have been resolved. However, players are still complaining about the bugs while DLC packs are just being released.
