Game developer DICE has announced that Battlefield 1 will now receive an update monthly, instead of an update per season. Soon, the developer promises to add the Platoons feature, which will allow players to organize themselves together.

DICE wants to be able to provide the game with improvements faster by switching to monthly updates. Many of the adjustments are made based on player feedback, the developer says. The Community Test Environment is used for this, which has been available since this year.

An update will be released in May that should resolve many complaints about gameplay, “hopefully making the action feel more balanced and fair,” according to DICE. The Battlefield 1 server rental program will also receive an update, about which the developer will announce more soon.

The Platoons feature will be coming to the game soon with the Spring Update. Platoons allow groups of players to organize themselves together. DICE also shows a number of screenshots of the upcoming expansion In the name of The Tsar. That’s one of the dlc’s to be released. The expansion with the Russian army takes place on the eastern front. A release date has not yet been announced.
