The battery of the PSP Go appears to be removable. Sony had previously announced that the battery could not be removed from the handheld to prevent piracy. There is now only a seal on the battery.

The PSP Go – which will be released on October 1 – can only be fed with games from Sony’s digital distribution network and no longer takes UMDs. Sony had previously announced that the battery would not be removable from the PSP Go and that the machine would have a more secure firmware. All this to make the muds as difficult as possible and in this way to curb piracy on the PSP Go.

Now turns out that the battery of the new PSP Go is only sealed with a sticker. The battery can therefore be removed without much effort. However, the warranty on the PSP Go will then expire, as stated on the seal.
