Bang & Olufsen stops plasma TVs and 32″ BeoPlay V1-32
Bang & Olufsen will stop production of its BeoVision 12 65” plasma TV and its BeoPlay V1 32” LCD TV. B&O has confirmed the cancellation of the two televisions to the Danish site Recordere. The manufacturer comes with new TV lines.
It comes as no great surprise that Bang & Olufsen is stopping production of the BeoVision 12. It is made from panels bought from Panasonic, which stopped producing plasma TVs last year. Samsung and LG are now the only companies producing plasma TVs.
The cessation of production of the BeoPlay V1 is striking. That model was offered for a relatively low price, but B&O let Recordere know that the 32” LED TV is too small for the target group. That would nowadays go for TVs of at least 40 inches. Whether Bang & Olufsen will delete even more models will become clear on Thursday evening. Then the electronics manufacturer gives a press event where the new models are unveiled.
