Publisher Bandai Namco has postponed Code Vein until next year. The publisher says it wants to refine the gameplay before the game comes out. The release was scheduled for September 28, the company does not mention a new date.

Due to the delay, the game must live up to players’ expectations, says Bandai Namco. In a statement, the publisher says it was a difficult decision. The game will also not be playable at Gamescom in Cologne next month. When exactly the game will be released, the publisher does not say.

The release was scheduled for September 28, but now the development team will have extra time to tinker with the gameplay. Code Vein is created by an in-house team at Namco Bandai, previously responsible for the God Eater games. The team is led by Yusuke Tomizawa. The team uses Unreal Engine 4.

Code Vein is an action RPG in a futuristic setting starring Revenants. These are vampires who rely heavily on the blood of others. The Revenants live in a world called Vein, also a reference to the veins from which they have to suck the blood. Revenants who are deficient in blood turn into monsters, the so-called Lost. The game will be released for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
