Aya Neo Introduces Slim Air 1S and Air 1S Ultra Handhelds with AMD Zen 4 APU

Aya Neo introduces its Air 1S and Air 1S Ultra. These Windows handhelds will have an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U APU with eight Zen 4 cores and will be relatively thin and light. The handhelds will be available at release from $899 to $1,259.

The Aya Neo Air 1S According to the manufacturer, it is 21.6 mm thick and weighs 450 grams. The Ultra variant will be a limited edition and will have a thickness of 18mm and a weight of 405 grams. Both Air 1S handhelds have a 5.5″ AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The manufacturer does not mention a refresh rate.

The Air 1S series has an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U APU with eight Zen 4 cores at 5.1GHz. The integrated GPU is based on the RDNA 3 architecture and has twelve compute units. This makes the specifications comparable to those of the Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip used in the ASUS ROG Ally handheld. Aya Neo does not report more concrete specifications of the chip, but states that it can work with TDPs from 5 to 25W.

Aya Neo provides the handheld with 16 or 32GB Lpddr5x memory. The Air 1S can be supplied with M.2-2280 SSDs of 512GB, 1TB, 2TB or 4TB. The battery capacity is 38Wh for the Air 1S. The Ultra variant only comes with 32GB of memory and 2TB of storage and has a 28Wh battery. Aya Neo will begin pre-orders for the Air 1S series via Indiegogo on July 11. The handhelds will be delivered from August.
