Aya Neo Air gaming handheld with OLED screen gets Ryzen 5000 processor again
Aya Neo equips its upcoming Air gaming handheld with Windows and OLED screen with an AMD Ryzen 5000 processor. The handheld will again get a Vega GPU and no new RDNA2 GPU, such as the Steam Deck. According to the manufacturer, the handheld weighs less than the Switch.
The Aya Neo Air weighs less than the 420 grams that the Switch Oled weighs, writes MyDrivers based on information from the Chinese manufacturer. The exact weight has not yet been disclosed. Also, the Windows handheld is slightly smaller than the Switch; the volume would match that of the Switch Lite. In photos, the manufacturer shows the side of the Aya Neo Air. Photos of the front and screen have not yet been released.
Aya Neo gives the Windows gaming handheld a 6″ OLED screen with a 1080p resolution. The handheld is also equipped with a micro-SD card slot. The handhelds from Aya Neo are so far more expensive than the Steam Deck, but the manufacturer claims The Air will have a price that will be within reach for many people. It is not yet clear how much the handheld will cost, but the manufacturer will announce that in May, when the console is formally introduced.
It is not yet known which Ryzen 5000 processor the handheld will receive, but all apus from that series have a Vega GPU. Earlier this year, Aya Neo already released a handheld with the Ryzen 5825U. It has more processing power than the APU in the Steam Deck, but the Vega GPU is less powerful than the RDNA2 GPU in Valve’s handheld. Aya Neo has previously indicated that a Discovery Edition of this handheld will be released later this year, with Ryzen 6000 apu. It does contain an RDNA2 GPU, but it is not yet known when that handheld will appear.
