AVM announces two routers in Fritzbox line
AVM has introduced two new Fritzbox routers at Cebit. The Fritzbox 7590 offers support for vdsl and super vectoring. The second model, the 6590 Cable, supports docsis 3.0. Both copies can offer a wireless network at 2.4 and 5 GHz.
The 7590 must be able to offer a maximum speed of 300Mbit/s via super vectoring, according to AVM. In addition, there is a WAN port for connection to, for example, a fiber optic modem. Via a wireless connection, the maximum theoretical throughput rate is 1733Mbit on 5GHz and 800Mbit on 2.4GHz. The device is equipped with 4×4 mimo and wifi-ac. In addition, the Fritzbox has four gigabit Ethernet ports and two USB 3.0 connections.
Like the other model, the 6590 Cable is equipped with a DECT base station. This instance supports docsis 3.0 with a maximum download speed of 1.7Gbit/s and a maximum upload speed of 240Mbit/s. The wireless features are the same as the 7590 model and the physical connections are the same. AVM has not yet announced prices for either model.
