According to AVM, the FritzBox 6690 Cable is the new top model with support for Wi-Fi 6, or 802.11ax, wired connections and the cable modem standard docsis 3.1. There are four Ethernet ports, of which a 2.5Gbit/s port and three 1Gbit/s ports. There are also two USB3.0 ports. For Wi-Fi 6, there are four antennas that allow connections over 5GHz to 4.8Gbit/s and 2.4GHz to 1.2Gbit/s.

The FritzBox 4060 is intended to be able to connect more WiFi devices than the 6690 Cable. The 4060 has twelve antennas and supports two 2.4Gbit/s networks over the 5GHz band and a 1.2Gbit/s network at 2.4GHz. There is also a 2.5Gbit/s port, three 1Gbit/s ports and a single USB3.0 port. It is also the first router in the 40 series with DECT support, with which six devices can be connected. The routers will be available at the end of 2021.
