A sixteen-year-old Australian boy confesses to having hacked Apple’s internal systems multiple times and stolen 90GB of data. He also managed to get hold of authentication keys.

The boy was arrested last year after an international action launched by the FBI. Apple discovered the break-in in the months before and contacted the FBI. After an investigation, the Australian police searched the boy’s home, confiscating two Apple laptops containing hacking tools.

The hardware identification numbers and IP address matched those of the logs at the time of the attack on the internal systems, The Age writes. His cell phone and hard drive were also seized. The 90GB of files were in a folder called ‘hacky hack hack’.

The boy is also said to have stolen authentication keys from the internal systems. The Age writes that these keys provide “log-in access” for user accounts. It is not clear whether it concerns hashes. According to the teenager’s lawyer, the boy broke into Apple because he is a big fan of the company. The boy himself indicated that he would like to work for the company.
