Atlassian acquires project app Trello for 400 million euros

Australian Atlassian acquires the company behind the projects app Trello. Atlassian is investing a little more than 400 million euros for this. Both the app and the company behind it will remain unchanged, except for more programmers.

Trello is currently available in a paid and free version and should remain unchanged when Trello, Inc. has become the property of Atlassian. Trello claims to have 19 million users, about half of whom started using the app in the past year. About half of Trello users come from the business side. Bloomberg writes.

Trello allows users to create projects that include to-do lists, photos, and videos. Multiple users can also collaborate on a project, divide tasks and consult with each other via the app.

Development on Trello began in 2011 at the Fog Creek Software company. In 2014, a split from that company, which was also called Trello, took over the development of the app. The company, which is based in New York City, employs approximately 100 people. Atlassian is a company that develops software for programmers, project managers and content managers. A well-known Atlassian product is issue tracker Jira.
