The US is getting a chain of Atari Hotels, where guests can play various games. Not only old Atari games, but also new vr and ar games. The first hotel is being built in Phoenix. Seven others are planned.

Atari has entered into an agreement with the American GSD Group that allows the latter to use Atari’s name for a series of hotels that the group is allowed to build in the US. Games can be played in the Atari Hotels ‘for all ages’. The group also hopes to use techniques such as virtual reality and augmented reality. The hotels should even be suitable for e-sports events. This would mean that not only classic games from the Atari portfolio can be played in the hotels. For the design of the hotels, the GSD Group will partner with Napoleon Smith III, who produced the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film from 2014.

The first hotel is being built in Phoenix. Plans are underway for seven more hotels, in Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco and San Jose. Much is still unknown about the hotels. For example, it is not known which games can be played, what an overnight stay will cost and when the hotel in Phoenix will open.
