Asustor comes with two nas systems with ARM socs

Asustor announces two new consumer NAS systems. Both the AS1002T and AS1004T are equipped with a Marvell soc. The AS1002T can be equipped with two 3.5″ drives and the AS1004T can accommodate four.

The AS1002T and AS1004T are the first NAS systems from Asustor to be equipped with ARM chips. It is a Marvell dual-core with clock speed of 1GHz: the Armada-385. There is also 512MB of memory and the systems are equipped with a gigabit Ethernet port.

A USB 3.0 port is placed on the front of the devices and another such interface is located on the back, next to the power and reset button. Both systems can be opened without a screwdriver and the installation of HDDs can also be done toolless, Asustor promises.

The AS1002T can contain up to 16TB of storage capacity with two 8TB drives and this NAS supports jbod, single and raid-0 and -1. The AS1004T can be equipped with a maximum of 32TB and supports jbod, single and raid-0, -1, -5, -6 and -10. The prices for the Benelux are not yet known.
