Asus ZenWatch 3 seems to get round screen
The third generation of the ZenWatch from Asus will most likely have a round screen. This is according to documents submitted to the US FCC. Asus may announce the new wearable at the upcoming IFA trade show.
The documents were discovered by the Ausdroid site. It mentions a small number of details about the new Asus watch. The biggest change seems to be the choice for the round screen. This can be deduced from the fact that the documents contain an image of a round label that is to be placed on the back of the watch.
In the past two ZenWatch generations, Asus has always chosen to provide the watches with a rectangular screen. Other manufacturers have also changed tack before, for example, Samsung introduced the first round Gear S2 last year. The Moto 360, for example, is also equipped with a round screen.
The label also shows that the housing is made of stainless steel and that the watch will have a 5V/2A charger. The FCC documents also show that the ZenWatch 3 has WiFi-n and Bluetooth 4.2.
