ASUS XG43UQ monitor with 4k144Hz panel and HDMI 2.1 appears at webshops
The ASUS ROG Strix XG43UQ has appeared on several web shops. This 4k monitor has a 144Hz refresh rate and offers two HDMI 2.1 connectors. The screen can now be pre-ordered and should be delivered in April or May.
The listings were spotted by TFTCentral, who found the screen at a British online store. VideoCardz also found listings of the monitor at Swedish and Czech web shops. The screen is offered at these web shops for converted prices between 1533 and 1681 euros. The monitor would officially go on sale in April or May, though ASUS hasn’t confirmed it yet.
The XG43UQ was already shown earlier this year during CES. The monitor gets a VA panel with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate. The advertised response time is 1ms. The display supports VESA’s Adaptive Sync standard, which allows the display to work with FreeSync and G-Sync.
The monitor is also certified for FreeSync Pro Premium and DisplayHDR 1000. According to ASUS, the screen can display 90 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. The XG43UQ also supports ELMB along with a variable refresh rate. ELMB is a form of backlight strobing and should reduce the amount of motion blur.
In terms of connectivity, the XG43UQ has two HDMI 2.1 connections and two HDMI 2.0 connectors. ASUS also equips the display with a DisplayPort 1.4 connection with display stream compression, which is necessary for 4k display at 144Hz without lowering the color depth. ASUS ROG Strix XG43UQ also features two USB 3.0 connections, a 3.5mm jack for audio, and two integrated 10W speakers. The supplied monitor stand is not adjustable in height due to the size of the screen, but it can be replaced with a VESA 100mm mounting bracket.
