Asus to release gaming laptop with AMD Ryzen Mobile apu
Asus is going to announce a laptop in the Republic of Gamers series based on the AMD Ryzen Mobile platform at the Computex fair. That can be concluded from a teaser video of the brand. AMD provides its Ryzen Mobile apu with an integrated Vega GPU.
The Asus video shows a RoG laptop with the AMD Ryzen logo in the background. Below that is the caption: “something has awakened”. The description of the video states that something big is on the way and refers to the Computex trade show. Asus will hold its Republic of Gamers press conference at the stock exchange in Taiwan on May 30. The presentation will be streamed live.
Earlier this week, AMD announced during its Financial Analyst Day that the Ryzen Mobile APUs will come to laptops in the second half of 2017. AMD also confirmed that the Raven Ridge APUs have an integrated Vega GPU.
Specifications of the APUs have not yet been released. AMD does promise better performance and lower consumption compared to the Bristol Ridge APUs. Asus is the first manufacturer to announce that it will release a Ryzen Mobile laptop.
