Asus has presented a motherboard with Intel B250 chipset that is equipped with 19 PCI-e slots. According to Asus, it is possible to combine eight cards from both Nvidia and AMD, for a total of sixteen.

Due to limitations in drivers from both Nvidia and AMD, it is not yet possible to use more than eight video cards from the manufacturers at the same time. Asus therefore states that users of the Mining Expert board should combine GPUs from both manufacturers. Asus expects a driver update from AMD that will allow the use of nine to eleven cards. If so, then all 19 pci-e slots on the board can be wagered.

The board is intended for mining cryptocurrency using GPUs. There is one PCI-E 3.0 x16 slot, the other slots are PCI-E 3.0 x1 copies. Riser cables must be used to mount the video cards. That is common in mining rigs. Asus has modified the board in several ways to accommodate the large amount of video cards. For example, there are three 24pin 12v connections, to provide the PCI-e slots with enough power. The motherboard is also equipped with a special bios, which should ensure better hash rates. When the system boots up, an interface is displayed with the status of the GPUs. It is shown per gpu whether it works, gives an error, or is not present.

The motherboard is based on the Intel B250 chipset and has an lga1151 socket. There is room for two strips of DDR4 memory and HDDs and SSDs can be connected to the four available SATA connections. The board is equipped with a gigabit ethernet connection and also has a Realtek audio chip on board.

When the B250 Mining Expert will come on the market and at what price is not yet known. In its presentation, Asus shows that samples of the board will be delivered from August 22.
