Asus releases portable ROG monitor with battery and 240Hz display
Asus comes with a portable game monitor with a 240Hz screen. Users can take the monitor with them and use it as an external or second screen with a laptop. The device falls into the Republic of Gamers series and has a built-in battery for mobile use.
The Asus ROG Strix XG17AHPE has a full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels on a 17.3″ IPS panel that can display one hundred percent of the sRGB color gamut. The monitor runs at a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz and has a response time of 3ms Since the laptop falls into Asus’ game series, the monitor has a number of features aimed primarily at gamers, including support for Adaptive Sync and FreeSync2, GamePlus and GameVisual, and Shadow Boost for darkening already dark spots in games. The device will have a USB-C connection with QuickCharge 3.0, a regular USB-C connection, and a micro HDMI port.
According to Asus, the device is mainly intended to be taken somewhere. The dimensions are also to that; the monitor weighs 1060 grams and is one centimeter thick. The monitor can be connected to a laptop or console with a micro HDMI connection. Particularly striking is the built-in battery of the monitor. It has a size of 7800mAh, with which users can play at 240Hz after one hour of charging, according to Asus. The device comes with its own protective cover that allows users to not only protect the monitor, but also to place it in both horizontal and vertical orientation. It is not yet known when the monitor will appear and what the device will cost.
