Slides posted online by a Taiwanese site show that Asus plans to release a cooling kit that can provide an X399 motherboard with additional cooling for use with a Threadripper 2 CPU. The release was supposed to take place this month.

The slides are put online by the site 4gamers. It includes a kit called the Zenith Extreme Cooling Kit that consists of a small 40x10mm fan, a bracket and a heatsink. Kits for two other motherboards do not include the fan. According to the text on the slides, the kits are intended to provide extra cooling in places that are responsible for the energy supply.

The text also states that the kit is intended to further overclock the processor and that it is only available on request. However, 4Gamers itself writes that Asus plans to bundle the kits with the Zenith Extreme, Strix X399-E Gaming and X399-A motherboards.

AMD showcased the second-generation Threadripper processors at the Computex trade show in Taiwan and said they will be released in the third quarter.
