Asus releases compact gaming PC VivoPC X
Asus releases a new PC in its VivoPC line of compact desktops. The manufacturer equips the VivoPC X with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, with which the model must be suitable for use with VR glasses.
The Verge doesn’t give details about the dimensions of the VivoPC X yet, but the PC would not be much larger than a console and be easy to move, partly due to the weight of less than 2.3 kilos. The latter would help for VR applications, although the GTX 1060 is only just getting ‘VR Ready’.
The VivoPC X contains a Core i5 of the Kaby Lake generation, 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. There are also four USB 3.1 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, two HDMI interfaces and displayport. The compact gaming PC will be available in the US in March for $899. That is converted with VAT 1045 euros. It is not known whether the PC will also come to the Benelux. Later this week there will be a press conference from Asus where more may be announced.
