Asus provides striking Blue Cave router with ifttt support
Asus shows a strikingly designed router called Blue Cave at the Computex trade fair in Taiwan. The router combines support for WiFi-ac with lighting and possibilities to use smart home applications via ifttt.
The Blue Cave is a dual band ac2600 router with integrated antenna. In the middle is a hole with LED lighting that can be set in three brightness levels. Asus has equipped the router with AiProtection: this is the name the company gives to its security suite for the product, which is based on technology from Trend Micro.
Part of this is Family Overview, a function that allows users to gain insight and control over the internet and app use via the router via their mobile phone. In addition, there is support for ifttt. By combining the router with other ifttt devices, users can set up smart home applications.
The Blue Cave will be launched in the third quarter. The US suggested retail price is $179. That is converted and with VAT 194 euros.
