Asus provides GTX 980 Ti Strix Ice with waterblock
Asus has announced a new video card in its Strix series. The GeForce GTX 980 Ti Strix Gaming Ice distinguishes itself with its spacious Bitspower water block, which covers the entire card and is equipped with LED lighting.
Asus uses two profiles for the GeForce GTX 980 Ti Strix Gaming Ice: with the Overclocking profile, the base clock speed is 1216MHz and the boost frequency is 1317MHz. In Gaming Mode, those clock speeds are 1190 and 1291MHz respectively. The GPU and boost clock speeds of the 980 Ti reference card are sequentially 1000 and 1075MHz.
There is 6GB of gddr5 memory, which Asus has clocked at 7200MHz, slightly higher than the standard clock speed of 7000MHz. To keep the overclocked card cool, a cooling block from the company Bitspower is present. The water block covers the entire map and contains the Asus Strix logo, which can light up thanks to LEDs.
The specifications of the card come from the Chinese product page and there are also many photos on Chinese sites. There doesn’t seem to be an official announcement yet. Wccftech reports that the card will cost $899. Converted and including VAT, that would currently amount to 1088 euros. The site notes that the new variant of the 980 Ti is late, as Nvidia is about to announce new graphics cards based on the Pascal GPU.
