Asus MG279Q monitor turns out to have FreeSync support
The Asus MG279Q monitor with a 27-inch screen and with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, announced at CES, joined the list of monitors that support AMD’s FreeSync technology on Tuesday, AMD announced in a tweet.
The tweet from @AMDGaming welcomes the monitor with an attached product photo featuring the AMD FreeSync logo. FreeSync, AMD’s alternative to G-Sync from Nvidia, should prevent stuttering in the image in games. Asus already supported G-Sync on some monitors.
The monitor used displayport 1.2a with Adaptive-Sync during an earlier presentation at CES, but FreeSync support was not explicitly announced at that time. The monitor also had a refresh rate of 120Hz, PC Perspective writes. The maximum refresh rate of the image is 144Hz, according to the new marketing image, presented via an IPS panel. There may be a hardware change.
