ASUS is working on ROG Swift monitor with 500Hz refresh rate
ASUS is working on a new gaming monitor with a refresh rate of up to 500Hz and a resolution of 1080p. According to the manufacturer, the monitor is intended for esports and will receive support for G-Sync, among other things. ASUS does not disclose a suggested retail price or release date.
The upcoming ASUS ROG Swift monitor will get a 24″ TN panel with a ‘low response time’, writes the company. The screen gets a 500Hz refresh rate, making it the fastest monitor to date. Currently, 1080p monitors come with a maximum refresh rate of 360Hz.
The ROG Swift monitor will also receive support for a G-Sync e-sports mode, which according to Nvidia should adjust the vibrancy of colors. The monitor also supports G-Sync Reflex Analyzer, which allows players to test their input lag in combination with an RTX GPU and a compatible mouse.
Further details about the 500Hz monitor are not yet known. For example, ASUS does not report when the monitor will be released or what it will cost. 360Hz monitors are in the Pricewatch at the time of writing from about 409 euros. Chinese screen manufacturer BOE already demonstrated a 27″ 500Hz monitor earlier this year, but that screen also has no release date or suggested retail price.
