“Asus is working on RoG Mars card with two Nvidia GTX 760 GPUs”
Images have surfaced of a new Asus map in the Republic of Gamers Mars series. It would be a card with two GK104 GPUs, of which a single copy formed the basis of the GTX 760.
Asus itself placed late last week a teaser on his RoG site titled “A tale of two heatsinks” and an accompanying image. The German site HardwareLuxx follow the with an image of a pcb with gpu, PLX bridge and 12-phase vrm, after which Videocardz.com a photo of the complete card published. According to the site, the card will be faster than any single-Gpu card, but the site doesn’t have benchmarks to back that claim. The big question is whether the card will also be faster and quieter than competing dual-gpu cards such as the Nvidia GeForce GTX 690 and the AMD Radeon HD 7990.
The Asus RoG Mars 760 has two GK104-425 chips and therefore a total of 2304 cudacores. The two GPUs are connected via a PLX PEX8747 chip, and the DirectCU II cooling with two fans and two heatsinks should keep the card at the right temperature. The side of the card contains the Mars logo, which can give light. Asus would make the card public on Tuesday, but the price is still unknown. Incidentally, there are also rumors about a new AMD card with two Hawaii GPUs, which should succeed the Radeon HD 7990.
