Asus introduces lightweight 14″ laptop for business use
Asus has introduced a compact laptop with a 14-inch screen under its business brand Asuspro. The housing is made of magnesium and the laptop weighs a little over a kilo in total, making it on the light side.
The 14″ screen has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Due to the thin screen edges, the laptop has a size that is in line with many 13″ models. The thickness of the housing is unknown, but Asus claims that the weight of the laptop at 1.04 kg is the lightest in its class. The keys have one and a half millimeters of travel and the touchpad is covered with glass, HotHardware writes.
The laptop comes with a seventh-generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor in the U-line. It is also available with up to 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Asus promises that the laptop can work up to ten hours on one battery charge.
The company does not report anything about the connections on the laptop itself, but the images show two USB-type-c ports and a 3.5mm audio jack. To expand the connectivity of the laptop, Asus sells separately the so-called ‘SimPro Dock’, which can be connected to the laptop with usb-c. The docking station has two Displayport connections, USB A and C ports with USB 3.1 Gen 1 support, VGA, HDMI, LAN and an SD card reader.
The Asuspro B9440 has a suggested retail price in the United States from 999 dollars, which is converted and including VAT about 1160 euros. It will be available from May.
