Asus introduces 24.5″ monitor with 144Hz TN panel for gamers

Asus has released the VG258Q, a monitor with a screen diagonal of 24.5 inches and a refresh rate of 144Hz. Asus focuses on gamers with the monitor with a tn panel and a response time of 1ms.

The resolution of the VG258Q is 1920×1080 pixels and the monitor supports FreeSync to minimize image tearing and stuttering. The gray-to-gray response time is one millisecond and the screen brightness is up to 400cd/m².

Asus has integrated two 2W speakers and in addition to the audio input there is a 3.5mm output for headphones. Furthermore, hdmi 1.4, displayport 1.2 and duallink-dvi-d are present. Cables can be concealed in the foot. The monitor can be rotated and swiveled 90 degrees, and can also be tilted 33 degrees back and 5 degrees forward. Furthermore, it can be adjusted 130 mm in height and optionally attached with a Vesa bracket.

Asus further claims to have minimized flicker of the image and to filter out blue light. Pricing for the VG258Q has not yet been announced by the company.
