ASUS equips new ROG laptops with RTX 40 GPUs and new AMD and Intel CPUs

ASUS introduces new laptops in three ROG series at CES. The ROG Strix, ROG Zephyrus and ROG Flow laptops are equipped with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 GPU and a new CPU from Intel or AMD. The laptops will be released this quarter.

ASUS refreshes its laptops this year including with the new Intel 13th Gen and AMD Zen 4 CPUs, in addition to the new GeForce RTX 40 laptop GPUs. In many cases, the new ROG laptops will also have the option of being delivered with a ‘Nebula’ screen. These variants have a mini LED backlight for higher brightness. The company previously only provided such panels in its ROG Strix series. In addition, more models will receive an improved heatsink with three fans this year, where it was only available in the Flow X16 last year.

The Zephyrus G14 laptop can be supplied with up to an AMD Ryzen 9 processor with Zen 4 cores. A concrete sku is not mentioned, because AMD has not yet officially announced its Zen 4 laptop processors. The laptop can also be equipped with up to an RTX 4090 laptop video card. ASUS is introducing a new G16 variant with a larger 16-inch screen and up to an Intel Core i9-13900H and RTX 4070. The G14 and G16 can both be supplied with a full HD screen or a Nebula QHD panel with mini LED backlight. .

In addition, the Zephyrus M16 also receives a new version, which comes with a maximum of an RTX 4090 and Intel Core i9-13900H. This top model in the Zephyrus series comes standard with a qhd screen with 240Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1100cd/m². The Zephyrus Duo 16 also gets a new version with AMD Zen 4 CPU with 16 cores, an RTX 40 video card, a 16″ mini LED screen and a wide touchscreen above the keyboard.

ROG Strix series of 18″ laptops

The ROG Strix series from ASUS is also being updated with RTX 40 GPUs and new Intel and AMD CPUs. In this series, the manufacturer also introduces new models with an 18″ screen. The ROG Strix Scar will be the top model from ASUS, which will be available with 16:10 mini LED screens of 16 and 18 inches. This laptop can be equipped with up to an Intel Core i9-13980HX CPU with 24 cores and an RTX 4090 and supports up to 64GB of DDR5 memory. Both laptops can be equipped with Nebula displays with a refresh rate of 240Hz, a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and a gtg response time of 3ms. it is also possible to equip the Scar 16 and 18 with a full HD panel with 165Hz refresh rate.

In addition, ASUS introduces the ROG Strix G16 and G18. These laptops are similar to the Scar variants in terms of specifications, but come with a maximum of an RTX 4080 and support up to 32GB of memory. The G16 and G18 also have a different design. These laptops can also be equipped with a Nebula QHD screen or a full HD variant. ASUS also comes with the Strix Scar 17 and G17 with a 17-inch screen, both of which are equipped with a Zen 4 CPU and an RTX 40 GPU.

ROG Flow series with convertible and 13″ models

Finally, the ROG Flow series gets an update. This year, the X13 will receive a maximum of an AMD Ryzen 9 processor with Zen 4 cores and an RTX 4070 GPU. The laptop can be supplied with a maximum of 32GB of DDR5 memory and up to 2TB of SSD storage. The X16 gets about the same configuration, but with a larger screen and an Intel CPU. Both laptops have a 360-degree hinge. Only the X16 can be equipped with a mini LED screen.

The Flow Z13 in turn gets a detachable keyboard and a 13″ screen diagonal. This laptop comes with a maximum of 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. ASUS supplies the laptop with a maximum of an RTX 4060 video card. The manufacturer also sells a separate Flow XG. This external GPU contains an RTX 4090 laptop GPU with a tgp of 150 W. ASUS does not yet mention recommended prices and release dates of the laptops, but says that all products shown during CES this quarter have yet to be released in the Benelux.
