Asus comes with 144Hz monitor with uhd resolution and hdr
Asus has unveiled the ROG Swift PG27UQ. This 27″ monitor has a UHD resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz. In addition, it is equipped with support for G-Sync HDR according to the manufacturer.
The Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ has an IPS panel that displays a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. According to Asus, it is the first UHD monitor to offer a 144Hz refresh rate. Asus already had the ROG Swift PG278Q in its range, but this 27″ monitor at 144Hz has a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels.
The PG27UQ that the company is announcing at CES supports Nvidia G-Sync HDR. This is a combination of Nvidia G-Sync and HDR 10 support, just like Freesync 2 also has HDR support. The maximum brightness of the screen is 1000cd/m2 to display the HDR images and, according to Asus, the LED backlight is divided into 384 zones to manage the contrast locally.
The high brightness would also be possible due to the use of quantum dots. This layer of nanocrystals allows a screen to display a larger part of the color spectrum with greater clarity. The monitor also has two displayport 1.4 connections and HDMI. Details on price and availability have yet to be announced by Asus.
