ASRock starts delivery of compact mini stx motherboard H110M-STX
ASRock has put the H110M-STX on its site, as a sign that the company will start the delivery of this motherboard based on the Mini Socket Technology Extended format. The compact board with Intel H110 chips includes a standard LGA socket.
ASRock’s H110M-STX is built around the motherboard form factor Mini Socket Technology Extended, or mini-stx. Intel also referred to the board as ‘5×5’ when it was introduced last year. In terms of surface, the form factor is 29 percent smaller than mini-itx and almost twice as large as nuc, with the advantage compared to the latter that the user can install a processor with tdp up to 65W.
In addition, there is room for DDR4 memory that can be inserted into two Sodimm slots. There are also two SATA 600 headers on the motherboard, as well as two M2 slots, one for a WiFi module and one for a PCI-e 3.0 x4 SSD. ASRock still found room for three USB 3.0 ports, one of which was type-c, and just as many USB 2.0 interfaces. Also vga, hdmi and displayport are not missing.
The prices are not yet known. ASRock previously announced a barebone PC with the motherboard, the Desk Mini 110, which is available at Geizhals for about 150 euros.
