ASRock puts details of AMD Ryzen 3 1200 processor online
ASRock mentions the AMD Ryzen 3 1200 in a cpu support list. According to the manufacturer, the clock speed is 3.1 GHz and the processor has a TDP of 65 watts. AMD itself has not yet disclosed any details about the Ryzen 3 processor.
According to the motherboard maker, the CPU has the model number YD1200BBM4KAE. The 4 in that code indicates that it is a quadcore, ComputerBase notes. ASRock mentions the processor on a page about the AB350M-HDV motherboard with AMD B350 chipset.
The Ryzen 3 processors, due out in the second half of this year, will be positioned below the Ryzen 5 CPUs. In the 5 series, quadcores and hexacores will be released, with eight and twelve threads. The Ryzen 3 processors have four cores, but it is not yet known whether they have smt and therefore also have eight threads.
AMD will release the Ryzen 5 processors on April 11 with suggested retail prices ranging from $169 to $249. It is not yet clear what the prices will be for the Ryzen 3 models. It is also unknown how many variants will appear. A February rumor predicted a Ryzen 3 1200 and 1100 and possibly a 1200X variant as well.
